November 2024
The year 2020 is now historically earmarked as the COVID year. It is also the year Immigrant Hope – Mesa opened doors to receive clients. One person who came to us during that year was the young wife of a United States citizen. Here is her story.
Her parents entered the U.S. without inspection seeking work, bringing their young daughter with them. She never lived in her birth country. She later fell in love and married a gentleman who was a U.S. citizen. The couple came to us seeking help with the process for her to apply to become a lawful permanent resident. We submitted the required applications and documents. Then almost five years later the State Department informed her she had an interview appointment scheduled with the U.S. Consulate in her birth country.
In the course of waiting for the consular appointment we were able to talk with her about who God is and the relationship with Him that He has provided in Christ. We prayed with her about her pending case. When the appointment time came, she had to leave her two children and her husband here in the U.S. She left well aware that she may never be able to return to her family but confident that God was in control of her circumstances. She called us immediately after the interview to let us know that all went well. She is now back in the U.S. waiting for the arrival of her “Green Card” showing she is now a Lawful Permanent Resident!
This is only one story of hundreds that are now a part of Immigrant Hope – Mesa. Providing this type of quality service enmeshed with a tangible expression of the Gospel brings deep, life-changing joy to the lives of our clients and their families, as well as to our own hearts. In order for this to exist, it also requires significant expense. The monthly cost for us to provide this type of service ranges from $12,000.00 - $14,000.00.
One way to be a part of what God is doing here is through financial contributions. Please consider the needs of Immigrant Hope – Mesa in your advent, or end-of-the-year giving.
